Proposal

On Tuesday November 12th, Kevin was like, “What do want to do this weekend? We have next weekend planned, but nothing this weekend.” We were planning on being down in Utah county because I was supposed to have an interview in Lehi on Friday the 15th. So anyways, I had been telling him how stressed I was about school, and he was like, “Do you want a massage?” And I thought he meant he was going to give me a massage and that was nice but then he said he was going to schedule me a time at a spa. Then he asked if I wanted a mani/pedi too and of course I couldn’t turn that down! He also said he wanted to treat us to steak but wanted to check the weather to see if he could grill some. It was rainy/snowy, though, so he said, “How about Christopher’s?” (a fancy restaurant in Salt Lake we went to on our second date), and I thought that was a good idea. Then since we’d been meaning to go to the Tavernacle (a piano bar in Salt Lake), we decided to finish the night off there. Little did I know he had already planned the evening in advance and was just making me believe I had a hand in planning our “spontaneous” weekend.

So on Friday the 15th, I went down and had my interview (which went really well) and then Kevin and I met at his house and went to the spa where I got a manicure and a massage. After that, I changed into a dress he had brought for our fancy date. We went to Christopher’s and it was great, then he said he wanted to look at a suit we had seen at Macy’s at City Creek. So we were walking to it and went over the sky bridge where we sat and talked on our first date (at this point he had a death grip on my hand, so I could tell he was nervous).

We sat on the bench and he took a picture of us and then this girl came up and asked if we wanted her to take a picture. She took one then Kevin asked if I wanted one standing up so you could see my whole outfit. He took a picture then said, “Do me a favor, can you stand up on this bench?” So I did, even though I was in 5″ stilettos on a padded cushion. Then he knelt on it and took this ginormous ring box out of his pocket (seriously, it’s over a pound on its own) and proposed. I said yes and kissed him and people cheered. Then I noticed three of his friends running around taking pictures of us (seen HERE) and he pointed out the window at one more taking pictures from the street. There were more people cheering out there.

We went and took a bunch of pictures around City Creek and Temple Square then went home. It was just perfect.
